Stock Transfers
Stock transfers are available on Standard and Pro plans.
Stock transfers move inventory between your Shopify locations. Swift POS supports both quick single-item transfers and full bulk transfer workflows.
Quick Transfer (Single Item)
For moving a single product between locations:
- Find the product in inventory view
- Click Transfer
- Select the source and destination locations
- Enter the quantity to transfer
- Confirm
The inventory is adjusted immediately at both locations.
Bulk Transfer Workflow
For larger transfers involving multiple products, use the full transfer workflow:
1. Create Transfer
- Select source location (where stock is leaving)
- Select destination location (where stock is going)
- Add items by searching, browsing, or scanning barcodes
- Set quantities for each item
- Save as Draft
2. Send Transfer
Click Send to initiate the transfer. This:
- Changes the status to In Transit
- Decreases inventory at the source location
- The stock is now "in transit" and not available at either location
3. Receive Transfer
At the destination location, open the pending transfer and click Receive:
- Confirm received quantities (can differ from sent quantities)
- Use barcode scanning in continuous mode for faster receiving
- Increases inventory at the destination location
- Status changes to Received
Transfer Statuses
| Status | Description |
|---|---|
| Draft | Transfer created but not yet sent. Can be edited or deleted. |
| In Transit | Sent from source. Stock has been decremented. Awaiting receipt. |
| Received | Fully received at destination. Transfer complete. |
Use barcode scanning during the receiving step to quickly verify that all expected items have arrived. Each scan increments the received count for that item.
Viewing Transfers
The transfer list shows all transfers with their status, source/destination, item count, and date. Filter by status to find pending transfers that need attention.
