Does Swift POS work offline?

Partially. Swift POS detects when you lose internet connectivity and shows an offline banner. While offline, you cannot place orders, process payments, or fetch product data, since all operations require communication with the Shopify API. However, the product grid continues to display previously loaded products, and parked carts are preserved in local storage.

Can I use Swift POS on mobile?

Yes. The React web app is responsive and works in mobile browsers. Open it on any phone or tablet to use the POS on the go.

How many products does Swift POS support?

Swift POS supports up to 2,500 products via pagination. Products are loaded in batches as you scroll or search. For stores with very large catalogs, search and barcode scanning are the most efficient ways to find products.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Swift POS uses multiple security measures:

  • JWT authentication -- all API requests are authenticated with signed tokens
  • bcrypt PIN hashing -- staff PINs are never stored in plain text
  • Session tracking -- all logins, logouts, and staff switches are logged
  • Shopify payment processing -- Swift POS never handles card numbers directly; Razorpay and Ezetap manage payment security
  • OAuth tokens -- Shopify API tokens are stored securely and scoped to the minimum required permissions

Can I use my existing Shopify products?

Yes. All products sync automatically from your Shopify store. There is no manual import or configuration needed. Products appear in the POS as soon as the app is connected. Changes made in Shopify admin (prices, descriptions, variants, images) are reflected in the POS on the next data fetch.

Features

Can I customize the receipt layout?

The receipt layout is standardized to include all necessary order information. You cannot change the layout, but you can control delivery method per customer through receipt preferences.

Can multiple staff use the same device?

Yes. Use the staff switching feature. Lock the POS, then a different staff member enters their PIN to take over. The cart is preserved.

Can I use Swift POS at multiple locations simultaneously?

Yes. Each device runs independently. Multiple staff at different locations can be using Swift POS at the same time. Each device is tied to its selected location for inventory and order purposes.

Does Swift POS work with Shopify Online Store 2.0?

Yes. Swift POS works with any Shopify store regardless of the online store theme version. The app reads products and creates orders through the Shopify API, which is theme-independent.

Billing

Can I switch plans mid-month?

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades also take effect immediately. Shopify handles prorated billing. See Upgrading for details.

What happens when my trial expires?

The plan auto-downgrades to Free. All features exclusive to the paid plan are locked, but your data is preserved. See Free Trial for full details.

Is there a yearly plan with discount?

Currently, Swift POS is billed monthly only. Annual billing may be available in the future.
