Making Your First Sale
Once your store is connected and staff accounts are created, you are ready to make your first sale. This guide walks through the complete checkout process.
Step-by-Step
1. Log In
Open the Swift POS web app. Enter your store domain, then your staff name and 4-digit PIN.
2. Select Location
Choose the location you are currently working from. This determines which inventory levels are shown.
3. Find Products
Browse the product grid, use the search bar, or scan a barcode. Products display their name, image, price, and available stock.
4. Add to Cart
Click or tap a product to add it to the cart. If the product has variants (size, color), a variant picker appears. Adjust quantities using the +/- buttons in the cart panel.
5. (Optional) Add Customer
Click the customer icon or press F2 to search for or create a customer. Linking a customer enables order history tracking and loyalty points.
6. (Optional) Apply Discount
Enter a promo code in the discount field, or apply a custom discount (if your role permits). See Discounts for details.
7. Choose Payment Method
Click Place Order (or press F8). Select your payment method:
- Cash -- confirm the amount tendered, change is calculated automatically
- UPI/QR -- a QR code is displayed for the customer to scan
- Card -- Razorpay payment form appears
- Terminal -- payment is sent to the connected Ezetap terminal
8. Order Complete
After payment, the order is created in Shopify. You can:
- View the receipt on screen
- Print the receipt using your browser's print dialog
