Receipt Preferences

Receipt preferences control how receipts are delivered to customers after order completion. Preferences can be set per customer for a streamlined checkout experience.

Per-Customer Preferences

Each customer profile can have a receipt preference:

PreferenceBehavior
PrintReceipt is sent to the browser's print dialog automatically
Ask every timeStaff is prompted to choose a delivery method (default)

Setting a Preference

  1. Open the customer's profile
  2. Find the Receipt Preference field
  3. Select the desired option
  4. Save

Once set, receipts are delivered automatically without staff intervention for that customer's orders.

Default Behavior

When no customer is attached to the order, or the customer's preference is "Ask every time," the receipt screen appears after order completion with all delivery options:

  • View -- display on screen
  • Print -- open print dialog

Receipt Content

All receipts include the same information regardless of delivery method:

  • Store name and location
  • Order number and date
  • Line items, quantities, and prices
  • Discounts applied
  • Tax breakdown
  • Order total
  • Payment method(s)
  • Customer name

For regular customers, setting a receipt preference saves 5-10 seconds per transaction. Over hundreds of daily sales, this adds up to significant time savings.

  • Print -- requires a connected printer (thermal printer recommended)
