Upgrading Your Plan
Upgrading your Swift POS plan unlocks additional features and increases staff limits. The process is handled entirely through Shopify.
How to Upgrade
- Go to Shopify Admin > Swift POS > Billing
- View your current plan and available upgrades
- Click Upgrade on the plan you want
- Shopify displays the plan details and pricing
- Click Approve to confirm the subscription
- The new plan is activated immediately
What Happens on Upgrade
- All features of the new plan become available immediately
- Additional staff slots are unlocked
- Previously locked features (analytics, transfers, etc.) become accessible
- No data is lost or reset -- everything carries over
- Billing begins from the upgrade date (prorated for the current period)
Downgrading
You can also downgrade to a lower plan:
- Go to Shopify Admin > Swift POS > Billing
- Click Change Plan
- Select the lower plan
- Confirm the downgrade
Downgrade Effects
- Features exclusive to the higher plan become locked immediately
- Staff accounts exceeding the new plan's limit are deactivated
- Data from locked features is preserved but not accessible until you upgrade again
- Cash register sessions are closed if the new plan does not include cash register
caution
When downgrading, review which features will be locked. If you rely on analytics, transfers, or custom roles, make sure the new plan includes them.
Billing Through Shopify
All Swift POS charges appear on your Shopify invoice:
- Monthly subscription fee
- Prorated charges when upgrading mid-cycle
- Credits when downgrading mid-cycle (depending on Shopify's billing policies)
You do not need to manage separate payment methods for Swift POS.
