Parked Carts

Parked carts let you save an in-progress order so you can serve another customer, then come back to it later. This is useful in busy environments where customers may step away or need time to decide.

Parking a Cart

To park the current cart:

  1. Click the Park button in the cart panel, or press F9
  2. The cart is saved with all its contents
  3. The POS returns to an empty cart, ready for the next customer

Parked carts preserve:

  • All items and their quantities
  • The attached customer (if any)
  • Applied discounts
  • Order notes and tags
  • Custom field values

Retrieving a Cart

  1. Click Parked Carts in the sidebar (or the parked carts indicator in the cart panel)
  2. A list of all parked carts appears, showing the customer name (if any), item count, and total
  3. Click a cart to retrieve it
  4. The parked cart replaces the current cart (if the current cart is empty) or prompts you to park the current cart first
tip

Parked carts persist across page refreshes and browser restarts. They are stored in local storage, so they are specific to the device and browser.

Deleting a Cart

To permanently remove a parked cart:

  1. Open the parked carts list
  2. Click the Delete button on the cart you want to remove
  3. Confirm the deletion

Deleted carts cannot be recovered.

Limitations

  • Parked carts are stored locally on the device, not synced across devices
  • There is no hard limit on the number of parked carts, but keeping too many can clutter the list
  • Parked carts do not reserve inventory -- stock levels may change between parking and retrieval
